something else to consider: art conservation will by necessity include
code conservationists, people who are trained to deal with issues of
migration and emulation.  some people start out as painters and end up
restoring the sistine chapel.  someone may start out as programmer and
end up restoring one of our pieces (provided the work is deemed worthy
of restoration).

so just make better work, stop worrying about the institutions.
